One Of Those Days

One of those days

When nothing feels right

At all

One of those days

When melodies turn into a cacophony

When usually friendly voices

Sound like secret whispers

Or shrill shouts

When confidence

In life and onself

Turns into fear and loathing

And a wish to run away

To hide under the blankets

Until dusk turns to dawn

And dawn to dusk

All over again

One of those days

When friendly smiles

Look like a woolf’s grin

With sharp teeth

And a hungry heart

That will rip yours apart

Until its hunger is satisfied

One of those days

When everything looks ugly

Meaningless and rather hopeless

When beauty and purity

Feel like mere constructions

Of the mind

To soothe the heart

From pain and spite

One of those days

When nothing feels right

At all

One of those days

When melodies turn into a cacophony

Of piercing sounds

And flattering bottomless lies

Let me sleep

Unless this falseness abides

Unless I come to my senses

Let me sleep

Or wake me to a better day

Not to one of those days

When nothing feels right

At all
